Time away.

So I’ve had my share of sunshine and now it’s time to take a deep breath, and sink back into the real world. Sigh.

To Wen, it’s Wed and I’m missing my breakfastbuddy at 3006.
Done and over.

For those of you who know, it’s been madness these few weeks. Been one long semester and I can’t wait to kick back and relax, wake up late, head to the beach on sunny days, take my time…
But then again, I’m pretty sure the two week break will fly by.
Underwater.

Kick, kick, stroke, pull back, breath.
Kick, kick, stroke, pull back, breath.
Silently the senses
Abandon their defences
The ventilator breathes along with me as my strokes fall into a simple and constant rhythm. The strings duet from last night rings loudly in my ears, as if I was there again. Clear and resounding.
There’s something about swimming at 6pm on a Sunday evening, with the darkening sky surrounding your little pool on the 33rd. On your own, heartbeat pounding in your chest, steady breathing as you make your way across the pool. Every lap requires a certain amount of strength which at this point of the week, you don’t really have. But you muster up every ounce of strength to get across.
Oh, but it feels so good to come back, refreshed. Ready to face another 2000 words by tomorrow.
You’remyinspiration.

Wishing you were somehow here again
Wishing you were somehow near
Sometimes it seemed
If I just dream
Somehow you would be here
Ah, somehow Phantom of the Opera will never fail to impress me whether or not the cast is up to standard. The music and set made up for everything else that was lacking. Anthony Warlow played the Phantom brilliantly, his voice is just amazing. When he hit that note in Music of the Night, I knew that the rest of the show was going to be that good because of him.
I still recall how my family would dress up, and go to the theatre every once in a while. The first time ever that I watched Phantom in Singapore, my dad told me that I was this little girl, sitting on top of the seat, in a red dress, bouncing around to the tune of Masquerade and conducting my own little band. When I went home, I’d insist on playing the soundtrack in the car till the point that I could sing every single lyric in there. That still hasn’t changed much I reckon.
Well, I’m waiting for my chance to watch The Lion King now. And Les Mis!
Wake up call.

So you sitting all alone
You’re fragile and you’re cold, but that’s all right
Life these days is getting rough
They’ve knocked you down and beat you up
But it’s just a rollercoaster anyway, yeah
It’s not right, not OK
Say the words that you say
Maybe we’re better off this way?
I’m not fine, I’m in pain
It’s harder everyday
Maybe we’re better off this way?
I’m not fine, not OK
Say the words that you say
Maybe we’re better off this way?
I’m not fine, I’m in pain
It’s harder everyday
Maybe we’re better off this way?
It’s better that we break, baby
